Morel Mushroom Hunting

Fishing
The Pine River is a Blue Ribbon Trout Stream with native strains of rainbow and brown trout. We are located 10 minutes from Tippy Dam(some great Salmon fishing), and only 20 minutes from Lake Cadillac & Mitchell. Lake Michigan is located 30 minutes west of Coolwater. Ponds available for practice fishing! Opening day is last weekend of April.
Canoe/Kayak

Biking
There are nearby mountain bike rentals and some great trails to ride! The Big M trail is a great trail and is home to the Lumber Jack 100 Trail Race.

We are only 15 minutes from Lincoln Hills Trail System. You can ride your ORV from the campground to the trail system.

There are many trails all over this area. Silver Creek trail along the Pine River, Manistee River Trail, North Country Trail, and many others!!
Traverse City
The city is less than hour away, stay for Cherry Festival and avoid the crowds.

There are many great hiking and biking trails in the area, all travel through the scenic Manistee National Forest. Within 30 minutes of Coolwaters Campground are four of Michigans most beautiful hiking and biking trails.
